Specification
Overview
This power module, functions as a constant current source designed to drive a laser diode. It supports a wide input voltage range and provides precise control and monitoring capabilities for reliable operation.
Electrical Specifications
• Input Voltage Range: 10 V to 24 V (Input Current 1.5A-2A)
• Output: Constant current source tailored for laser diode operation
Pin Configuration and Functionality
1. Pin 1 - TMP: TMP1826 single wire temperature sensor I/O port, protocol referenced to datasheet.
2. Pin 2 - GND: Power ground (0 V).
3. Pin 3 - FAULT: Digital signal output indicating fault conditions. The pin is pulled low when a fault is detected.
4. Pin 4 - EN: Digital signal input for enabling or disabling the power module.
5. Pin 5 - DIM: Digital signal input for PWM dimming control, supporting frequencies from 1 kHz to 20 kHz. Maximum duty cycle is dependent on the laser diode specifications (max. forward current).
6. Pin 6 - VIN: 10V-24V. Power input for the module, accepting voltages within the specified input range.
Features
• Constant Current Output: Ensures stable operation of the laser diode.
• Wide Input Voltage Range: Accommodates various power supply configurations (10 V to 24 V).
• Temperature Monitoring: Provides real-time temperature feedback.
• Fault Detection: Actively monitors and signals fault conditions through the FAULT pin.
• Flexible Dimming Control: Supports PWM dimming with a frequency range of 1 kHz to 20 kHz, allowing precise adjustment of laser diode output based on application requirements.
